The Carter Wealth Advisory Group

Jim Carter

Jim Carter

Vice President/Investments

I have been in the investment industry since 1969.  Since that time, there have been tremendous changes in the industry, but the basic tenets of investing have stood the test of time.  I believe taking a collaborative approach is a key element in cultivating successful, long-term relationships with my clients and allows me to deliver the customized guidance they expect and deserve.

After earning a B.S. in Biology from Central Michigan University, I served 17 months in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army’s Medical Corps.

Backed by Stifel’s extensive resources and through the collaboration with my clients’ legal and tax professionals, my main focus is serving high-net-worth individuals with issues related to multigenerational wealth management, estate planning strategies, and trusts.

Ryan Carter, AIF

Branch Manager; Associate Vice President/Investments

My ultimate goal is guiding hardworking families and individuals toward their short- and long-term goals, whether it is saving for retirement, education, or wealth generation and tax-efficient wealth transfer.  I will work closely with you to tailor your portfolio through asset allocation, taking into consideration a wide variety of investment strategies.  Each of my clients have unique needs, and I develop customized plans that align with those needs.

I began my investment industry career with Stifel in 2016.  Prior to joining Stifel, I served as a small business owner and worked in sales and commodities.  I earned a B.S. in International Management from Butler University and hold Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities).

Additionally, I am a member of the Butler Lacrosse alumni network and the Lansing Regional chamber of commerce.

We are happy to help anyone, even if it means not necessarily doing business right away.  In general, our strategies are most appropriate for individuals with a minimum of $100,000 in investable assets.

Asset allocation does not ensure a profit or protect against loss.
